ACTS Chili Cook-Off

     Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church is hosting its first annual chili cook-off on Saturday, April 30, 2022.  Being held in conjunction with the Epiphanic it’s a great opportunity for our Christian Catholic Community to come together and build relationships with others in our parish and Katy community.   The deadline to enter your unique home-made chili is fast approaching; so, take a look at the attached rules and guidelines!

CHILI COOKING RULES

1. The chili must have a main ingredient of either meat (beef, chicken, pork, etc.), beans, or both.  Vegetarian chili is allowed but must be made with beans.
2. The chili must be home-made.  Please do not bring a canned chili with a “special ingredient” in it.
3. There is no limit to the number of team members.  However, each team will receive one chili cook-off package.
4. The sign-up deadline is Friday, April 22, 2022.  You must have your registration and entry fee of $25 in by that date or you will not be allowed to participate. 
5. Chili may be prepared onsite or at home. However, no electrical supply will be available.  All teams must take precautions to ensure the safety of the food they prepare. The facility will be available from 9:00 a.m. April 30^th for cooking and table decorating.
6. Set up and decoration of chili booths will take place on Saturday, April 30^h from 9:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
7. Provide enough chili to be served from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., about 4 to 6 quarts of chili.
8. Prizes for 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd place awarded by a panel of judges who will sample your chili beginning at 12:30 p.m. A “People’s Choice” award will also be given to the team with the most popular choice of the crowd. Voting for the Peoples’ Choice award will close at 3:00 p.m. and prizes announced shortly thereafter.
9. Have FUN!

1. Each team will have one standard 6’ table to decorate.
2. Decorations should not encumber the serving of chili.
3. Please keep all decorations in good taste and in keeping with the decorum afforded to a Catholic Church parish.
4. Prize for the 1^st place booth will be awarded.  Judged based upon the decorations and the theme.
