Retreats are highly effective ways for the candidates to experience the Church as a community in a non-academic, open environment. A retreat intentionally calls people out of their busyness to examine how individuals within their communities choose to hear and respond to God’s loving action in their lives. The Archdiocese recommends that all Confirmation Candidates make two retreats prior to celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Every Candidate must attend the Day retreat on September 10, 2017 and the Confirmation Retreat on January 12-14, 2018. It is your responsibility to set aside these dates in advance.
By agreeing to attend the two Retreats, you are agreeing to fully and actively participate in the entirety of the Confirmation process. If a student has a conflict that absolutely cannot be worked out, you must find another retreat with another parish to attend. The Archdiocese puts together a Confirmation Retreat Make-Up List to help you find a date. It will be your responsibility to make arrangements with the church or retreat center to attend a different retreat. The list is made available in the Fall.
Seniors interested in helping with the Retreat Team should contact Joey Harvey at the beginning of the school year. They will have multiple meetings to go over plans for the retreats. Seniors also create a video presentation for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Email email@example.com
