Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

"Love and devotion to the Eucharistic Christ and the careful respect we render to His presence in this sacrament is at the center of who we are as Catholics. Nothing is more important in parish life than the proper celebration of the Eucharist. The Church draws its strength for its mission in the world from the Eucharist. It is indeed the summit and source of all the Church's activities" (Cdl. DiNardo,  A Eucharistic Instruction) 

When there are not enough clergy to distribute Holy Communion, laypersons can be commissioned to assist in this duty. Extraordinary Ministers assist the priest and deacon in distributing Communion in Mass. 

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are required: 

• To be registered parishioners of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Parish 
• Have received the Sacrament of Confirmation 
• Be in good-standing with the Catholic Church 
• Regularly attend mass and have an active faith life
