Do you have children attending our formation program? Do you want to know what they are learning? Do you want to grow in your own faith? Do you want faith to play a larger role in the context of your family life?
** If you answered yes to any of the questions above then our new Parent Connections resource is for you.
Parent Connections are a new resource being created by the faith formation deparment this year to help parents connect with the lessons being taught during their child(ren)'s weekly faith formation session.
There will be one corresponding Parent Connection for each "Essential Question" found in the faith formation curriculum. Each Parent Connection Resource will include:
* An outline of the key learning targets for that topic organized according to the grade level appropriate spiral (Elementary, Jr. High, High School, and Adult).
* Links to resources that will offer additional adult formation for the parent to further their own faith development/learning. Examples include YouTube Videos, Podcasts, Scripture, Catechism References, Books, and more.
* An idea of a family prayer activity that will reiterate and reinforce the theme or topic that is being addressed during this peroid of formation.
* An idea for a tangible family activity such as a craft, games, dinner questions, etc. that will continue to explore the formation theme and help make personal connections to family life.
We hope that this resource will become a great tool to foster family dialogue, support parents in their role as primary catechists, and continue to engage families in faith concepts beyond their formation and Mass attendance.
